Waiver & Participation Terms

A Program Overview

I, the undersigned parent or guardian (the “Participant”), hereby confirm my voluntary participation in ParentYog, a 2-day online AI connection and problem-solving workshop offered by DLYog Lab Research Services LLC (“DLYog Lab”), Sacramento, California. I understand that the primary objective of this program is to share the DLYog Lab founders’ lived experience with AI project-building and hackathon-style problem solving, and to support parents in exploring AI as a family connection tool.

B Online Platform & Remote Participation

ParentYog takes place entirely online via video conferencing and AI exploration platforms. I understand that:

1. I am responsible for providing my own internet connection and device;
2. online participation involves technology risks including connectivity failures, platform outages, and data exposure on personal networks;
3. DLYog Lab is not responsible for technology failures, internet outages, or third-party platform changes;
4. ground travel is not required, and DLYog Lab assumes no liability for any travel I choose to undertake in connection with the program.

My participation is voluntary and I participate at my own risk.

C Safe Online Participation — Participant Responsibilities

As a participant in ParentYog, I am responsible for:

1. Joining sessions on time and attending in their entirety. If I miss a session, DLYog Lab instructors are not required to provide individual make-up instruction.
2. Maintaining appropriate and respectful conduct during all online sessions. If I engage in disruptive, inappropriate, or abusive behavior, DLYog Lab may remove me from the program without refund.
3. Not sharing session access links, recordings, or materials with unauthorized parties.
4. Supervising any family members present during my participation. DLYog Lab does not supervise children or family members.

D Release of Liability, Waiver of Right to Sue, Assumption of Risk, and Agreement to Pay Claims

In consideration for being allowed to participate in this Activity, on behalf of myself and my next of kin, heirs and representatives, I release from all liability and promise not to sue DLYog Lab Research Services LLC, its founders, employees, officers, directors, volunteers and agents (collectively “DLYog Lab”) from any and all claims, including claims of DLYog Lab’s negligence, resulting in any physical or psychological injury (including paralysis or death), illness, damages, or economic or emotional loss that I may suffer because of my participation in this Activity, including remote online participation.

I am voluntarily participating in this Activity. I am aware of the risks associated with participating in this Activity, which include but are not limited to: psychological or emotional responses to program content, exposure to AI-generated content, technology-related stress, economic or emotional loss from reliance on program content, and/or other outcomes. I understand that these outcomes may arise from my own or other participants’ actions, inaction, or negligence; from AI tool behavior; or from the condition of online platforms. Nonetheless, I assume all related risks, both known or unknown to me, of my participation in this Activity.

I agree to hold DLYog Lab harmless from any and all claims, including attorney’s fees or damage to my personal property that may occur as a result of my participation in this Activity. If I need any professional services (medical, psychological, legal, or otherwise) as a result of participation, I will be financially responsible for any costs incurred.

I am 18 years of age or older.

I understand the legal consequences of signing this document, including (a) releasing DLYog Lab from all liability, (b) promising not to sue DLYog Lab, and (c) assuming all risks of participating in this Activity.

I understand that this document is written to be as broad and inclusive as legally permitted by the State of California. I agree that if any portion is held invalid or unenforceable, I will continue to be bound by the remaining terms.

E Hold Harmless Agreement

I agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless DLYog Lab Research Services LLC, its founders, employees, officers, directors, and agents from and against any and all claims, losses, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including attorney’s fees) arising out of or resulting from my participation in ParentYog or my breach of this Agreement.

F AI Tool Use Acknowledgment

I understand that this program involves the use of AI tools and AI-generated content. I acknowledge that:

1. AI outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, biased, or unsuitable for some uses;
2. DLYog Lab makes no warranty regarding the accuracy or suitability of AI content;
3. I am responsible for supervising all AI use by any family members present during my participation;
4. AI tools used are third-party platforms and DLYog Lab is not responsible for third-party AI platform behavior or outputs.

G Parent Responsibility for Optional Family Member Involvement

Any involvement of children, minors, or other family members in my participation is entirely optional, voluntary, and under my direct supervision and responsibility. DLYog Lab does not supervise, monitor, teach, evaluate, or assume responsibility for any child, minor, or other family member. I am solely responsible for the safety, wellbeing, behavior, and online activity of any family member present during my participation.

H Statement of Understanding

I, the participant named below, am responsible for:

1. Joining sessions on time and attending complete sessions.
2. Maintaining appropriate, respectful conduct in all online interactions.
3. Not recording or distributing workshop content without prior written consent from DLYog Lab.
4. Supervising any family members present during my sessions.
5. Protecting my own internet security and device safety.

I understand that:

1. Program content is for general informational and enrichment purposes only and does not constitute professional advice of any kind.
2. Certificates of Participation acknowledge workshop completion only — not professional qualification, academic credit, or technical certification.
3. The showcase is optional and informal; recognition is for encouragement and does not certify professional or technical competency.

I Media / Photo / Video Release

I grant DLYog Lab Research Services LLC permission to photograph and/or record video of sessions in which I participate. These images or recordings may be used in DLYog Lab publications, program materials, social media, or multimedia presentations. I understand that if I do not want to appear in photographs or recordings, it is my responsibility to notify DLYog Lab before the session and to disable my camera during recorded portions. I grant permission for DLYog Lab to use my program comments, reflections, or general feedback for promotional and program improvement purposes, with personally identifying information removed unless separately consented to in writing.

J Certificate Disclaimer

Any Certificate of Participation issued acknowledges completion of ParentYog only. It does not represent professional qualification, academic credit, technical certification, clinical or therapeutic competency, educational achievement, or childcare competency.

K Severability

If any provision of this Agreement is found to be invalid or unenforceable under California law, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

L Acknowledgment — I Have Read This Document

I have read this document in its entirety, and I am signing it freely. No other representations concerning the legal effect of this document have been made to me. I understand that by signing, I am:

1. (a) releasing DLYog Lab from all liability,
2. (b) promising not to sue DLYog Lab, and
3. (c) assuming all risks of participating in ParentYog.

I confirm I am 18 years of age or older.
